Site-Based Mentoring Program

STRUCTURED MENTORSHIP THAT ENGAGES & INSPIRES

The Site-Based Mentoring Program at Big Brothers Big Sisters provides one-to-one mentorship in a structured setting led by BBBS staff. Through activities and social-emotional learning, Littles engage in purposeful activities designed to build confidence, foster connection, and expand their future possibilities.

HOW IT WORKS

MENTORING IN A STRUCTURED PROGRAM

→ Matches youth (Littles) with adult mentors (Bigs) to meet regularly in BBBS-led programming.

→ Planned, engaging activities ensure sessions are impactful and aligned with students' interests.

BUILDING LEADERSHIP & LIFE SKILLS

→ Participants in the school-based program gain confidence in their academic potential, strengthen peer connections, and develop emotional resilience, all while reducing engagement in high-risk behaviors.

INTERACTIVE, ENGAGING ACTIVITES

→ Sessions focus on goal-setting, character development, career exploration, and fun team-building activities.

→ Encourage positive decision-making and social-emaotional learning.

ACADEMIC & PERSONAL GROWTH

→ Mentored students show higher school engagement, better attendance, and improved relationships.

→ Helps Littles gain confidence, stay engaged, and explore new passions.

SAFE & SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT

→ Takes place at local community centers, businesses/attractions, and other community locations.

→
BBBS Staff guide goal-setting, social-emotional learning, and leadership development.
