26th Annual FUN RUN Results

2008's Fun Run on July 12, 2008 was a BIG Success, with nearly 170 runners/walkers. Both the 2 MI Run/Walk and 10K Run took place in Old Town Negaunee. Tracy Lokken of Marquette finished first overall with a time of 30:30 in the Men's 10K Division, and Val Fetting from Wausau, WI was first overall in the Women's 10K Division with a time of 40:18.

In the 2 MI, Mickey Sanders of Marquette finished first overall with a time of 11:22 for the Men's Division and Brittany Cappoferri of Negaunee finished first overall in the Women's Division with a time of 14:47.

A "BIG" thanks to the National Guard 107th Engineer Battalion for assisting & guiding runners.

The Fun Run is held annually, during Pioneer Week, the day of the Negaunee Parade.    

For the second year in a row, the Range Bank/Pioneer Days Fun Run for Big Brothers Big Sisters has been awarded for Participation in the 2008 Endorsed Events Program. Endorsed by the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports, participants 18 years of age and older are eligible to register for the 2009 lottery to have an opportunity to be one of only 300 participants to run over the Mackinac Bridge on Labor Day.  For information and to register for your chance to participate, visit www.michiganfitness.org or call 800/434-8642. Registration deadline is June 30, 2008. (Registration deadline for 2007's participants is June 25, 2008)
