WHO WE ARE
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Upper Peninsula (BBBSCUP), is a mentoring organization that creates and supports one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Working within the communities of the Central Upper Peninsula since 1969, BBBSCUP has effectively inspired change in the lives of thousands through impactful mentoring programs and meaningful relationships that defend and ignite today’s youth to reach their full potential. We currently have active matches in Marquette, Alger, Delta, and Dickinson Counties including a service footprint reaching Schoolcraft and Menominee Counties.
By placing a caring adult in the life of a child, BBBSCUP creates safe, high-quality, long-lasting mentoring relationships that help youth beat the odds and reach their full potential through personal and academic achievement. Professionally supported by our staff, road-maps for success are developed in concert with parents, children, and mentors.
More than 100 years later, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America remains true to our founder’s vision of bringing allies and defenders into the lives of children. Today, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America currently operates in all 50 states and in 12 countries around the world!

THIS IS THE CAPITALThe capital is a letterform that tells our story. The story of an organization that creates connections that matter. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Upper Peninsula.
When the “B” is used alone, we call it The Capital. It is a powerful symbol of the real-life match that creates a whole greater than the sum of its parts. |
LOWERCASE BThis idea represents the story of a Little and their parents or guardians aligning with our organization to build momentum toward reaching their full potential. The elements of the lowercase b stand as a powerful symbol but do not tell the complete story.
|
COMPLETE THE BWith the addition of Bigs, the equal parts create meaningful intersection. As the upper piece of the B is added, the relationship balances and becomes stronger and bigger.
